Maxis Speeds Up Cloud Adoption for Malaysian Businesses with AWS Infrastructure

Maxis, Malaysia’s leading integrated telco, is set to accelerate cloud adoption for businesses nationwide by leveraging the newly launched Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure Region in Malaysia. Through Maxis Business, the company’s enterprise arm, businesses can now migrate their data and workloads to the cloud with enhanced security and seamless efficiency, thanks to local data residency.

By prioritising data residency within Malaysia, Maxis ensures businesses meet regulatory compliance while enjoying enhanced security and reduced latency. This infrastructure allows faster and more reliable cloud operations, enabling Malaysian enterprises to harness advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), generative AI, and large-scale analytics.

As the only telco in Malaysia to hold AWS Advanced Tier Services Partner and AWS Direct Connect Partner status, Maxis is uniquely positioned to support businesses in their cloud migration journey. In conjunction with the recent AWS Region launch, Maxis Business is offering its Cloud Mover programme, available until 30 November 2024. This initiative provides free cloud migration services and up to RM10,000 in credit, including six months of Direct Connect.

Maxis CEO, Goh Seow Eng, said, “As Malaysia’s leading integrated telco, Maxis is dedicated to driving cloud adoption across both private and public sectors. The AWS Region in Malaysia enhances scalability and security through local data sovereignty. We are excited to help more Malaysian businesses leverage the power of cloud computing as their preferred digital partner.”

With its AWS Advanced Tier Services Partner status, Maxis boasts a team of certified experts who offer consulting based on the AWS Well-Architected Framework, ensuring businesses build secure, resilient, and efficient infrastructures for long-term success. As an AWS Direct Connect Partner, Maxis also offers private, low-latency connectivity, further enhancing the security and performance of cloud operations.

Maxis Business’ end-to-end managed network services simplify digital transformation for customers, offering solutions in cybersecurity, cloud, private networks, and IoT, alongside core mobile and fixed connectivity. Additionally, Maxis recently expanded its portfolio to include graphics processing units-as-a-service (GPUaaS), further driving innovation.

Beyond cloud solutions, Maxis is advancing 5G and 5G-Advanced (5G-A) technologies, offering use cases across various industries and smart city solutions. It has also introduced Malaysia’s first platform combining 5G networks, edge computing, and cloud orchestration.

Maxis’ partnership with AWS, established in 2019, continues to drive cloud technology innovations, including generative AI and 5G applications for Malaysian businesses.
